Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info: name, email, password (encrypted).
• Profile info: birthdate, photos, bio, interests, "looking for", gender (optional), current and past cities, languages.
• Location data: only when you actively share it, with the precision and time limit you choose. Location always expires automatically.
• Activity data: mood status, need posts and responses, swipes, matches, and chat messages.
• Technical data: basic device/browser info for security and to keep the service running.

2. How we use it

To operate core features: profile discovery, matching, real-time chat, the friends map, mood/needs sharing, notifications, and to keep the platform safe (detecting abuse, enforcing our Terms).

3. Who can see your data

• Your profile (photos, bio, interests) is visible to other users while you're discoverable.
• Location, mood, and needs are visible only to the specific circles/groups you choose to share them with, at the precision level you pick.
• Chat messages are visible only to you and the person you matched with.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Where it's stored

Your data is stored with our cloud infrastructure provider (Supabase), with row-level security policies enforced at the database level so each user can only access their own data and the data explicitly shared with them.

5. Your controls

You can edit or delete your profile information, stop sharing your location at any time (or let it expire automatically), leave any group/circle, and delete your account entirely, which removes your profile, photos, location history, and messages from active use.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Expired location shares are not retained as live data. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed except where we're required to keep minimal records for legal or security reasons.

7. Children's privacy

Friendszone is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves and will update the "Last updated" date above.
